No button displayed when opening a record?
The configured button does not show up when you open the record? There are 4 possible scenarios.
The button is not displayed on the record details page.
The button is displayed when a record is checked in the list, but not when multiple records are checked.
The button is not displayed when a record is checked in the list, but is displayed on a record detail page.
This button is not displayed when checking records in the list, but is displayed when opening the single record detail page.
1. No button displayed on the record details page
1) The button is not available for records in a view
The button will be displayed only in the specified view. If the button already exists, you can add an existing button to the view.
Or you can set the available range of buttons in the management page of custom actions.
2) No button displayed when opening associated records
For example, a [Complete] button is set in the [Ongoing] view of the Task worksheet. The task is associated with a project, and when the unfinished task is opened in a project, the finish button is not displayed.
Configuration: Select the corresponding view in the associated task field in the Project worksheet.
3) The button is hidden when the display condition is not met
The button cannot be clicked when the conditions are not met, and sers can set [Hide buttons that are not available], so you can check if it is set to be hidden.
2. The button not displayed when checking a record, but displayed when checking multiple records
As shown above, the [Take Effect] button is displayed when multiple records are checked, but the button is not displayed when only the first record is checked.
1). Filter conditions are set for the button
This is because the button is configured for the conditions under which it can be clicked. If a record is checked, the system can determine whether it meets the conditions, and if it does not, the button will be hidden; if multiple records are checked, the system will no longer determine the conditions, and the button will always be displayed.
When you check multiple records and click the button, if the conditions are not met, the custom action will not be executed either.
2). The button is only available for batch operation, and the button is not added to the record details page
In the following configuration, the button is only configured for batch operation, and the button is not added to the record details, so it will not be displayed when one record is checked.
3. The button not displayed when checking records, but displayed on the record details page
1) Set to fill in the associated record
This is because the fields that need to be filled in when the button is clicked are not fields in this worksheet, but fields in the associated record.
Because multiple records are not necessarily associated with the same record and cannot be filled in the same page, therefore such buttons display is not supported and needs to be operated separately on the record detail page.
2) No button is added for batch operation.
In the configuration below, only the buttons on the record details page are configured, and no buttons are added for batch operations, so no buttons are displayed when multiple records are checked.
